Corrections Officers On The Other Side of The Bars
It appears that two low-life corrections officers in Maryland demonstrated yet another innovative way to steal identities.
The Baltimore corrections officers were stealing credit cards belonging to the prisoners at Baltimore’s central lock-up! Look ma, another case of identity theft that does not involve computers or the Internet!
The crooked corrections officers apparently had a grand old time charging things up at places like McDonald’s (love those greasy burgers!), Target, Home Depot (doesn’t that new countertop look divine?) and gas stations.
After a while the victims began to notice charges on their credit card statements that they were not responsible for and the investigation eventually led to the crooks whose job it was to lock up other crooks.
I always wonder how people like this can be so stupid. It’s a given that the victims are going to start noticing these charges they did not make and make a stink about it. With cameras watching us in just about every public place we wander into these days, it might not be hard to track people like this down as they are out spending money that isn’t theirs all over town.
The crooks and their accomplices are now looking at the world from the other side of the bars. I’m sure they’ll be real popular on the inside, but I find that I can’t muster up any measure of pity for them at all.
