Pump-And-Dump Stock Scams
A recent article provided a nice simple explanation of what a pump-and-dump stock scam is all about. I’ve had my share of experience with penny stocks a few years ago and certainly learned my lesson.
It’s easy to get excited when you hear stories about stocks that were purchased for a few cents rising up to a dollar or more. I read all the warnings and good advice that told me to stay away from penny stocks but I had to learn for myself.
I was lucky because I did not lose more money than I could afford to lose at the time. In the end, I lost way more than I ever made trading penny stocks.
At one time I was getting a lot of the penny stock spam e-mail messages that are the subject of the aforementioned article, but lately I do not seem to be attracting many at all. I actually wish a few of them would arrive in my e-mail so I could post them here.
I received quite a few that utilized the trick of including an image file inside the e-mail message that contained the actual message about whatever penny stock was being pumped at the time. I’m sure many of them are still being sent by the seemingly endless supply of crooks out there who are trying to take advantage of someone.
